“It is my honor and privilege working with the legendary” – Rajinikanth shares screen space with Kapil Dev in upcoming film

Indian megastar Rajinikanth has expressed gratitude to work with former Indian captain and legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev in his upcoming movie ‘Lal Salaam’.

Taking to Twitter, the veteran actor shared a picture of himself with the World Cup-winning captain. The duo can be seen interacting with each in matching outfits. Rajinikanth captioned the post:

“It is my honor and privilege working with the Legendary, most respected, and wonderful human being Kapildevji., who made India proud winning for the first time ever..Cricket World Cup!!!”

Written and directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya Dhanush, the film is being produced by A Subaskaran. Lal Salaam stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth. Twice Oscar-winning singer A.R. Rahman has lent his music to the movie, which is slated to release next year. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth will be next seen in Jailer.


Kapil Dev has played roles in several Bollywood movies

Kapil Dev has so far played roles in four Bollywood movies. They are Karmyoddha (1992), Stumped (2003), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Iqbal (2005), Aryan (2006), Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii (2007), Mazhavillinattam Vare (2015), Bharat (2019) and Double XL (2022).

The 64-year-old has recently made a special appearance in sports drama ’83 that depicts the journey of Indian cricketers lifting the 1983 World Cup in Lords after defeating two-time champions West Indies.

On the professional front, Kapil Dev has represented Team India in 131 Tests and 225 ODIs, scoring 5248 and 3783 runs. The legendary all-rounder has also scalped 434 and 253 wickets in the two formats. As skipper, Dev guided India to four wins in 34 Tests, including 22 draws. He also helped the Men in Blue to 39 wins in 74 ODIs.
