The Pondicherry Premier League 2024 season witnessed yet another double-header on Wednesday, August 7 at the Cricket Association Pondicherry Siechem Ground.
In the first match of the day, Ossudu Accord Warriors batters collectively amassed 176/9 from 20 overs. Middle-order batters Jayasundaram Karthikeyan and Sidak Singh top-scored in the innings with 43 and 35 swift runs respectively. K Vishnu and Satish Jangir compounded 32 runs together from just 12 balls to turbo-charge the Warriors innings at the death. For Yanam Royals, fast bowlers Manogaran Pooviarasan (3/32) and Shivaji Naik (2/33) picked up wickets at regular intervals.
Chasing 177, Royals managed just 111/9 from 20 overs to fall 65 runs short of their target. Sidak Singh, who packed a fiery 35 with the bat, picked up four Royals' wickets at the expense of just 15 runs from his four overs for the Warriors. Satish Jangir and Krishna Pandey also chipped in with two wickets each in their respective three-over spells.

Later in the day, White Town Gaints were folded up for just 86 in 17.5 overs by Mahe Megalo Strikers bowlers Sagar Udeshi (3/16), Vishal Khokhar (2/16) and Sreeraj (2/21). For the Gaints, number four batter Karthikeyaprasad Sai Hariram himself accounted for 32 of those runs before becoming Thivagar Gopal’s sole victim of the innings.
In response, Strikers openers Ajay Rohera and Logesh Prabagaran gunned down their 87-run target in just 6.3 overs with all their 10 wickets intact. Rohera himself found time to smear 58 unbeaten runs from just 22 deliveries with four boundaries and six maximums.

Mahe Megalo Strikers opener Ajay Rohera blasted 22-ball 58* to get to the top of the run-scoring charts of the Pondicherry Premier League 2024 season with 82 runs. As of now, he is followed by Ganga Sridhar Raju (66 runs), Akash Anand Kargave (65 runs), Sidak Gurvinder Singh (60 runs) and Mohit Kale (51 runs) as the top five batters of the season.
J Karthikeyan and Ameer Zeeshan N are ranked sixth and seventh on the run-scoring ladder with 50 and 42 runs respectively. Ritesh Gudge only trails seventh-placed Zeeshan by a run while Ragavan Ramamoorthy and Jay Pandey occupy the final two positions on the top 10 list with 40 runs each.

Sidak Gurvinder Singh picked up figures of 4/15 on August 7 to catapult himself to the top of the Pondicherry Premier League 2024 wicket-taking race with five scalps. Indrajeet Kumar and M Pooviarasan, also with five wickets each, slipped to number two and three on the top 10 charts. Sagar Udeshi is ranked fourth on the table with four scalps at an impressive economy rate of 4.34.
Vishal Khokhar, Paras Ratnaparkhe and JR Sreeraj take the subsequent three slots on the bowling table with three wickets each. Similarly, Sabhay Chadha, Fabid Ahmed and Karthik B Nair have struck twice each to round up the top 10 wicket-taking table.
