Team India's spin-bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar shared a few pictures on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse of his time in Australia during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 (BGT) Test series. There were a couple of photos of him roaming on the streets.

The other included snaps of a meal and the Optus Stadium in Perth, the venue for the recently concluded series opener. Sundar captioned the post:

"Boy wondering outside. 🚶‍♀️🥘🏟️🌆🎵."

Commenting on the post, India's top-order batter Shubman Gill cheekily pulled Sundar's leg by comparing him to a social media influencer. He wrote:

"Influenzaaaaaa🔥"

Gill's comment left Indian bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur in splits as he reacted with a laughing emoji.

Team India kicked off the BGT 2024-25 series with a comprehensive 295-run victory. They became the first team to beat Australia in Tests at the Optus Stadium. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli shone with the bat in India's second innings, scoring 161 and 100,* respectively. Stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah was adjudged the 'Player of the Match' for bagging eight wickets (5/30 & 3/42) across two innings.

Gill was expected to feature in the Perth Test. However, he sustained a thumb fracture during India's practice match simulation and was ruled out of the fixture.

Washington Sundar was picked ahead of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin in India's XI for Perth Test

Washington Sundar recently made a dream return to India's Test team. After a three-year absence, the crafty spinner was back in India's playing XI for the second Test in Pune against New Zealand last month. He impressed with a stunning seven-wicket haul in the first innings.

The 25-year-old also got the nod over senior players Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in the BGT 2024-25 opener against Australia in Perth. He registered scores of 4 and 29 with the bat in the fixture.

Sundar bowled just two overs in Australia's first innings, with the Indian pacers dominating the proceedings. He picked up the wickets of Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon in the final essay.

India and Australia will now compete in a pink ball Test. The second Test of the BGT 2024-25 series will be played in Adelaide from December 6.
