Team India players enjoyed themselves during a catching session ahead of the upcoming Test series against England. India will play a five-match Test series in England, starting June 20.

Ahead of the series, the Indian players were seen enjoying themselves in a catching session. The players were seen practising everything from low catches to high catches and slip catching with fielding coach T Dilip, who was reinstated for the England tour a month after being relieved of his duties.

In the video posted by the Indian cricket team on Instagram, newly appointed Test captain Shubman Gill, along with Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, and Kuldeep Yadav, among others, can be seen in focus.

Team India will look to start afresh under new Test captain on England tour

Team India will want to make a positive start on the England tour as they step into a new era in the longest format. They will be led by Shubman Gill, who has a challenging task as his first assignment as Test captain.

This is a phase of transition for the Test team, with the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma no longer in the side. Under former captain Rohit Sharma, India had suffered back-to-back Test series defeats against New Zealand at home and Australia Down Under, failing to make it to the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) final.

They will look to move on from that and bounce back in England, which also marks the beginning of the new WTC cycle for them. While it will be a challenge for captain Gill, who has played only 32 Tests so far, the pressure will also be on head coach Gautam Gambhir, who will have a point to prove after successive Test series defeats under him.
