The 20th Women’s Hundred 2024 match was played between the Trent Rockets Women and the London Spirit Women. The Trent Bridge in Nottingham hosted the exciting contest, with the Rockets Women emerging victorious.

There is no movement yet at the top of the points table. The Welsh Fire Women remain atop the standings with eight points. The Northern Superchargers Women and the Oval Invincibles Women follow suit with seven points each.

The Superchargers Women have a net run rate of (NRR) +1.690 whereas the Invincibles Women have an NRR of -0.104. The London Spirit Women couldn’t add to their points tally of five after suffering a loss on Wednesday and are placed fourth in the points table.

The Trent Rockets Women, meanwhile, returned to winning ways and have moved up the standings. They have jumped to the fifth spot from the seventh after taking their points tally to four and boosting their net run rate to +0.434.

The Rockets Women are followed by the Manchester Originals Women, who also have four points but an inferior net run rate of -0.593. The Birmingham Phoenix are placed seventh with four points and an NRR of -1.070.

The Southern Brave Women are languishing at the bottom of the points table. They have a single point from five games and have a net run rate of -0.451.

An all-around effort helps Trent Rockets get back to winning ways in the Women’s Hundred 2024

The London Spirit Women opted to bowl first in the 20th Women’s Hundred 2024 match. Bryony Smith and Grace Scrivens opened the batting for the Trent Rockets Women and gave a solid start, putting 74 for the first wicket before Smith fell on 34.

Scrivens brought up her fifty before departing for 55. Skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt scored a quickfire 12-ball 22 and Heather Graham’s cameo of unbeaten 22 off 12 balls powered the Rockets Women to 158/5 at the end of their 100 balls.

The Spirit Women were poor at the start of the innings with the ball. They pulled back things at the back end of the innings. Deepti Sharma picked up two wickets for them.

In reply, Meg Lanning scored 23 at the top of the order but fell in the seventh set. Skipper Heather Knight looked good for her 29 but departed while trying to up the ante. There were no real contributions from the other batters.

The Spirit Women kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Deepti remained unbeaten on 30 as they finished their innings on 127/7 to lose the game by 31 runs.

The Australian duo of Ashleigh Gardner and Alana King starred with the ball for the Rockets Women. Both picked up three wickets apiece and dented the Spirit Women’s progress in the chase. As a result, the Rockets Women completed a fantastic win in front of their home crowd.
