BCCI today announced the India’s squad for Zimbabwe tour beginning 24 July. India are scheduled to play five ODIs in Zimbabwe.
India have selected a young squad with many surprise selections, as many of the first team players are rested. The regulars like skipper MS Dhoni (injury), Ashwin and Yadav has been rested, while Murli Vijay has been shown the door.
The players who got the call for very first time are Jammu & Kashmir off-spinner, Pervez Rasool, Saurasthra batsman Cheteshwar Pujara who has done well in Test cricket has been rewarded for performing consistently. While Mohit Sharma has been rewarded for a very good first season for IPL team CSK.
