Ravichandran Ashwin trolls old foe on Twitter for confusing him with Murugan Ashwin

Ravi Ashwin strikes on Twitter again

Ravi Ashwin’s shenanigans on Twitter have become regular fare for entertainment for a long time now. Such is the regularity of these ‘troll’-ing sessions that the India cricketer now has old and familiar foes, like Nibraz Ramzan from Sri Lanka, who again found himself at the receiving end recently, for confusing him with Murugan Ashwin of Rising Pune SuperGiants.

There has even developed an air of familiarity between Ashwin and this fan, who has been previously known to spout his dislike of the India team on the social media.

A recent exchange between Ashwin and Nibraz ended on the note of Ashwin saying that he should be locked up in a dog van. One more recent encounter had seen the fan attacking Ashwin for not having called Thisara Perera back when he had been unjustly given out by the umpire, at which Ashwin had said that he does not possess 3D vision.

This time, the same fan trolled himself by tweeting to Ashwin that he had leaked 31 runs in the IPL match against Gujarat Lions on Thursday, and that his carrom ball was being ineffective these days. However, Ashwin had in fact given away 26 runs in that match, and the fan had actually been referring to the bowling figures of Murugan Ashwin, the other spinner in the RPSG ranks.

Ashwin replied, saying that critics need to watch matches before starting on their self-ordained jobs, instead of coming to conclusions from reading scorecards. The fan had been caught out making a needless tweet.

Ashwin sarcastically added, “You will come up in life.”

The fan later explained in a separate tweet that he was travelling, and so was not being able to watch live matches. The damage had been done, however. Still unrelenting in his desire of getting under Ashwin’s skin, the fan went on:

Ravichandran Ashwin had taken 0/26 on Thursday, while Murugan Ashwin had taken 2/31.

Both of them playing for the same team has raised quite a few eyebrows in the 2016 IPL, and Nibraz Ramzan is not the only one to have made this mistake. Those who have watched the matches, however, have had no problem in distinguishing between Ashwin’s trademark action and Murugan’s Ashwin action that seems like a throwback to the action of Anil Kumble.
