South Australia fast bowler Daniel Worrall has been given a four match (either one-day or T20) suspension following a bizarre incident that took place last week.
According to The Guardian, the 22-year-old was found guilty of “bringing the game into disrepute” as he sketched a penis and testicles on a pitch that was being prepared for an upcoming game.
Speaking on the incident, South Australia’s high performance manager Jamie Cox said: “We are extremely disappointed in Daniel’s actions, it’s not in line with the behaviour we expect of a Redbacks player. We do believe this out of character for Daniel. He regrets his behaviour and has accepted the penalty.”
Just last month, Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan was suspended for three ODI matches after making a disturbing gesture on live television.
The following is a picture of what Worrall drew.
