Sri Lanka announce squad for Bangladesh series: Mendis returns, Senanayake dropped

After missing out on the recently concluded series against Pakistan, spinner Ajantha Mendis has been recalled by the Sri Lanka for the two-Test series against Bangladesh. He replaces off-spinner Sachithra Senanayake in the 15-man squad for the Dhaka and Chittagong Tests.

Lahiru Thirimanne, who had to return home during the series against Pakistan due to an ankle injury, has not recovered and will be replaced by Kithuruwan Vithanage; while the rest of the squad remains unchanged.

The first Test against Bangladesh starts on January 27, while the second one on February 4.
