The Sri Lankan cricket team landed on Australian shores to play a two-match Test series that gets underway later this month. The Asian islanders are termed as underdogs for the series. Having never won a Test match in the Pacific nation, they will begin this series with an aim to end their 31-year drought.

They started their tour with a three-day practice match against Cricket Australia XI between January 17 and 19 at Hobart, which ended in an unconvincing draw for the visitors. Now, the action shifts to the first Test match, which is set to be played under lights between from January 24, 2019, at the Gabba in Brisbane.

This will be followed by second and final Test match, from February 1, 2019, at the Manuka Oval in Canberra.
