Stats: Top 10 players with most number of ducks in World Cup history

Nathan Astle

Pakistan’s Ijaz Ahmed and New Zealand’s Nathan Astle share the top spot for the most number of ducks recorded in World Cup history. Both of them have got out without scoring a run on 5 occasions at the mega event.

If there’s one stat that AB de Villiers would like to forget, it is sharing the third spot with four other cricketers for the number of ducks in World Cup cricket. The South African captain has recorded 4 zeroes in 15 matches since making his debut in the 2007 edition in the Caribbean.

Two of the final three spots are occupied by players from the minnow nations with Shafiul Islam of Bangaldesh rounding off the list.

Interestingly, Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya has the most career ducks in the ODI format of the game – 34, and Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi the second most with 29.
