Sunil Narine knocked out Chittagong Vikings with fiery 16 ball 31 and masterclass figures of 4-0-15-4 and took Dhaka Dynamites to qualifier 2 in the 6th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League.
The 2018-19 BPL season is the sixth season of Bangladesh Premier League.
After league stage matches, with 16 points each Rangpur Raiders and Comilla Victorians advanced to the qualifier 1, whereas Dhaka Dynamites and Chittagong Vikings advanced to the eliminator.
Today at Dhaka, Dhak Dynamites battled with Chittagong Vikings in the eliminator. Chittagong Vikings won the toss and elected to bat first.
Not A Great Start For The Vikings
Yasir Ali and Cameron Delport opened up for the Vikings. But Yasir Ali got dismissed early with just 8(9). But still Delport and Shafiul Islam scored some good runs. Once that pair got broken, the match went into the hands of Dynamites.
Fiery Spell
Narine made Vikings suffer more by dismissing M Rahim And Islam in two quick overs. And further more he got Frylink and Viljoen for a run each and ended his spell with figures of 4-0-15-4.
Hossain tried to recover Vikings but he didn't get enough support from the other end. Vikings made 135 runs at the end of 20 overs on the board with Hossain's fighting knock of 40(35).
Quick Fire With The Bat
Narine made a quick fire of 16 ball 31 with 5 fours and 1 six. While Narine got dismissed, Dynamites had already 44 runs to their total.
Upal Tharanga and Rony Talukdar made 44 run partnership for the 3rd wicket. K Ahmed surprised Vikings fans by removing Talukdar and Shakib in successive deliveries.
But those efforts went in vain as Pollard and N Hasan secured the win with 6 wickets and 20 balls to spare.
One Man Show
The Show stealer Narine grabs the man of the match award as he shines with his all-round performance and secured a place for his team in the second qualifier.
The second qualifier will take place in Dhaka at 18:00 IST day after tomorrow. The losing team at qualifier one will face Dhaka Dynamites on Wednesday and the winning team in qualifier one will go to the final directly.
