Australia vs India, 2003: India lost by 9 wickets

After having a 1-0 lead in the four-match series, India went on to lose the lead as they lost the third game at Melbourne. Batting first, Sehwag played an extraordinary knock of 195 runs but the Indian team collapsed as they lost their last nine wickets for just 88 runs to post 366 on the board.

After that India never looked in the game as Ricky Ponting went on to score a double hundred to help his team win the match by 9 wickets.


Australia vs India, 2011: India lost by 122 runs

In the first Test match of the series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, India reduced the hosts to 214/6 but their lower order batsmen stayed at the crease as they posted 333 on the board. India lost this golden opportunity and went on to concede a lead of 51 runs in the first innings.

Chasing 291 to win the match, India bundled out for 169 in the 4th innings as they lost the match by 122 runs.


New Zealand vs India, 2014: India lost by 40 runs

In the first Test match of the series at the Eden Park, Auckland, the Indian team reduced hosts for 30/3, the Indian team once again lost their momentum as Williamson (113) and McCullum (224) took away the match from India in the first innings itself.

Though India bowled them out for 105 in the 3rd innings, the lead of 301 runs that they received allowed the hosts to take away the match by just 40 runs.
