Matches - 17, Innings -15, runs – 415, Avg – 35, SR – 115, 50s - 2, Wickets – 25, Economy rate – 5.78

Thisara Perera has been the under-performing all-rounder from Sri Lanka for so long. Though he made his debut as early as in 2009, he has never been consistent as he proved to be expensive with the ball and disappointing with the bat. But 2018 was different for him as he started the year confidently both with the bat and the ball. With the bat, he scored 64,29 and 39 not out. In those 3 matches, he took nine wickets.

In the home series against South Africa, Perera scored a 50 off 45 balls. He contributed to Sri Lanka’s win with the ball too. In the Asia Cup against Afghanistan, the seamer finished with figures of 5 for 55. Perera finished off the year with two identical scores of 44 against England.
