The third English batsmen in this list, Jonny Bairstow has been the most prolific run scorer so far this year. He was not a permanent member of the English line-up until the end of last year as they had the services of Indispensable Jos Butler as a wicket-keeper. So he scored a truckload of runs for Yorkshire in the Royal one day cup and made it impossible for the selectors to ignore him.

They had to somehow accommodate him in already established ODI line-up. The selectors decided to pair him up with Jason Roy at the top of the order and that proved to be a masterstroke as the duo have been providing quick starts consistently. Jonny Bairstow has scored 970 runs at an average of 51.05 including four centuries in 19 matches so far. The most fascinating part is that he scored all this runs at an astonishing Strike rate of 121.09
