India defeated Pakistan to successfully retain the blind Cricket World cup. The effort was nothing less than heroic as the match went right down to the wire. Pakistan set a daunting target of 308 for the Indian team to chase down on the back of impressive contributions by Badar Munir and Risayat Khan.India struggled in the second half of their chase but eventually got over the line with an over to spare and two wickets in the bag. Sunil Ramesh was the star with the bat for India as he scored 93 runs in 67 balls.
