Virat Kohli is back in the nets ahead of the series

After having earned a long break from cricket after the recently concluded Indian Premier League, India’s test skipper Virat Kohli was seen sweating it out at the nets ahead of India’s tour of West Indies this month, returning to competitive cricket almost a month later after being rested for the ongoing limited-overs series against Zimbabwe.

Kohli has hogged all the limelight with his spectacular performances off-late, which earned him the man of the tournament award in both the Indian Premier League and the World T20 which preceded the IPL.

On Saturday, Virat took a moment off to click a selfie of himself with his kitbag in the car, whilst heading for practice, while tweeting “"Guess who is back. On my way for my first net session. And that's how I feel; that good old feeling #Grateful".

With a long and tiresome series planned during the tour of the Caribbean nation, India will initially square off against local teams from West Indies for two warm-up games followed by the four- test match series spanned across July and August.

The young Indian team is all set to leave for the Caribbean nation on July 6th, accompanied by relatively new faces donning the staff’s role.

Test Series Schedule :

St.Kitts is set to host both the practice matches, with July 9th the date for the first two-day match, while the three-day warm-up game will be battled out from the 14th of July.

The first test match will be played at the Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and Barbuda while Sabina Park in Jamaica will play host to the second test match, which will commence from the 30th of July.

The third test is scheduled to be played at the newly christened ‘Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium’ in St.Lucia on August 9th, with the series set to conclude after the final test on the 18th of August, which will be played at the Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad and Tobago.
