West Indies vs India 2016: Viv Richards, Sunil Gavaskar to be part of commentary team
Hemant Buch, senior Vice-President of Ten Sports, took to Twitter to announce the list of commentators for the upcoming Test series between West Indies and India. Legendary batsmen Sunil Gavaskar and Sir Vivian Richards are set to be a part of the commentary team. While the former Indian opening batsman is a regular in the commentary box, Richards hasn’t done much commentary recently – with the exception of the Big Bash League (BBL).
The commentary team will also include Ian Bishop, Sanjay Manjrekar, Jeff Dujon and Ajay Jadeja. While the first three names are frequent voices in the commentary box, Jadeja hasn’t commentated much in international cricket before despite being an analyst on cricket-related television shows over the years.
Buch also mentioned that Gavaskar and Richards will be part of the analysis shows that will air during the tour. Manjrekar will be the host for the same.
The Test series will begin on July 21, with the first Test match scheduled to be played at the Sir Vivian Richards International Stadium, Antigua. The second Test will be played at Sabina Park in Jamaica and will commence on July 30.
The third Test will be held at the Beausejour Stadium in St. Lucia and the final Test at the Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad and Tobago, with the Tests to begin on August 9 and August 18 respectively.
Before the start of the Test series, the Indian side – led by Virat Kohli, will play in two practice games in St. Kitts.
