Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir share a great camaraderie, both on and off the pitch

India, Delhi and KKR opener Gautam Gambhir celebrated his 35th birthday on October 14, and Twitterati took to their handles to send across birthday wishes to the fighter who recently found his place back in the Indian Team.

Gambhir and Virender Sehwag were one of the best opening pairs of all time and opened the batting for both Delhi and India for years. Not just on the field, their partnership off the field was also a celebrated one. And thus Twitter spectators were expecting yet another humorous birthday wish from Viru, who has been hitting sixes on the social media website with his hilarious tweets post retirement.

Not just fans, but the birthday boy also expressed how surprised he was with Sehwag’s ordinary, pun-less birthday wish for him.

The social media sensation tweeted, “Many many happy returns of the day Gautam Gambir.”

Whether the spelling error in ‘Gambir’ held a joke within itself is best-known to Sehwag

The recipient of the tweet promptly acknowledged the birthday wish. He did not shy away from expressing that his expectations from Sehwag the entertainer were not met.

But later during the day, Gambhir surprised the Twitterati as he came up with a humorous, Sehwag-like response to Yuvraj Singh’s sarcastic birthday tweet to him.

Yuvraj Singh, the veteran left-handed batsman, tried to take a subtle dig at Gambhir’s otherwise serious nature.

But Yuvi was left amused when Gambhir trolled him back in an epic manner.

Since Yuvraj Singh’s marriage is on the cards, Gambhir’s reply could not have been any better.

Despite many crucial knocks, the spotlight hasn't always been on the KKR skipper, who was once an integral part of the national team. But on the occasion of his 35th birthday, he was the centre of everyone's attention as the cricket fraternity from around the world wished him.

When Virender Sehwag disappoints, Gautam Gambhir bounces back, like always.
