Darren Sammy has been a part of the West Indies Cricket team since long. Having debuted in 2004, he has remained as one of the key players for his nation.

Darren Sammy was the leader of the Windies in World Cup 2011 and had helped the team in reaching quarterfinals of the tournament before losing to Pakistan to crash out of the tournament.

However, after the tournament, under the leadership of Darren Sammy, West Indies won the World T20 twice.

Due to his poor form as a player, he played his last ODI in 2015, and was later axed as WI’s T20 captain in 2016 and has been away from the international cricket since 2017.

But, due to his hard-hitting power and experience, he has continued to be a part of various T-20 leagues around the globe.

He currently plays for Peshawar Zalmi (PSL), St Lucia Stars (CPL) and Windward Islands Cricket team (West Indies First class cricket team) and often does anchoring and commentary in the IPL.
