At 37 years of age, MS Dhoni is still one of India’s premier batsmen and is the first name on team sheet along with captain Virat Kohli. Though his hitting abilities have waned he still remains a vital member of team - both with the bat and behind the stumps.

Since the start of 2019, he has allayed fears around his form by making significant contributions with the bat. As a wicket-keeper, he is alert and often dictates the game during end overs when Kohli patrols the boundary.

But it is all but certain that Dhoni is set to bid adieu to international cricket after the World Cup, in his fourth World Cup. It was under his leadership that India won the trophy in 2011 and the experience he will bring to the table this time could prove to be crucial in India’s bid to lift the trophy.
