The teams that bat well in the middle-overs may well decide the outcome of the World Cup 2019. England’s middle-order of Eoin Morgan, Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler are capable of making full use of this period. The trio has been at the centre of England’s batting revamp.

Buttler, especially, has been a good batsman for England in the last two years. In 2018 he scored 671 runs at an average of 51.67. In 2019 thus far he has hit 373 runs at an average of 62.17. In February he scored 150 runs against the West-Indies, before smashing a 50-ball hundred against Pakistan in May.

He has the ability to hit the ball 360 degrees. Buttler can just as easily strike a powerful straight boundary, as he can use the pace and scoop the ball over the wicket-keeper’s head.

In the World Cup 2019 opening match against South-Africa, it was Morgan (67 runs) and Stokes’ (89) turn to contribute. If all three of them can find form in the tournament, bowling attacks are in grave danger.
