Yograj Singh, the father of Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, earlier today rubbished claims that his son is addicted to drugs. Earlier in the week, Yuvraj was accused of smoking marijuana by his former sister-in-law, Akansha Sharma but Yograj dismissed all the allegations.

Akansha, who is the ex-wife of Zoravar Singh, Yuvraj’s brother, contested in the reality show Big Boss on the small screen recently. Following her eviction from the show, she said that once she got drunk at a party and returned home late. However, Akansha clarified that she, in fact, smoked marijuana with Yuvraj and Zoravar. She also went on to claim that Yuvraj was addicted to the drug.

Yograj Singh, however, proudly maintained that none of his children would ever do such a thing. In an interview with the Deccan Chronicle, the former Indian cricketer retorted, “What nonsense is she talking? It is absolute rubbish. I'm a father of four children and none of them are drug addicts.”

He added that Yuvraj is like a lion, and lions do not eat grass. He said, “Yuvraj, as also my other three children, are like lions. They don't eat grass."

Akansha further disclosed how Shabnam Singh, who is the mother of Yuvraj, was the reason for all mishaps in her marriage. She added how Shabnam interfered in her daily life and how she was accused of substance abuse initially.

On top of all these, Akansha even went on to say how the family relies on Yuvraj, the swashbuckling batsman being the sole bread-earner of the family. Shabnam has retaliated by deciding to sue her former daughter-in-law for disclosing private matters of the family on national television.

Yograj, meanwhile questioned how Akansha could accuse another individual of such things when her own life is in shreds. "The lady who is accusing Yuvraj should put her own house in order before alleging something", he said. "Let me remind her that these allegations will not hamper the chances of my son's comeback - he will certainly come back and play for India."

Yuvraj failed to make the Indian Test team for the first few matches against England despite being the leading run-scorer in the Ranji Trophy this season. Yograj definitely believes in his son and hopes that Yuvraj will soon make a comeback to the national side as does his entire fanbase.
