With the SAG-AFTRA strike going on for the better part of the last year, the two protagonists of Genshin Impact — Aether and Lumine — had remained unvoiced for some time in the game's English dub. Aether's EN VA Zach Aguilar and Lumine's EN VA Sarah Miller-Crews are both SAG-AFTRA members who had withheld voice work for Genshin Impact for the duration of the strike.
The SAG-AFTRA video game strike finally concluded in the second week of June 2025, with the union confirming it was suspending its strike. Following this development, many English VAs took to social media to express their happiness at it finally ending. Other voice actors announced their return to various franchises, revealing they had been cast to play roles in some video games.
Recently, Zach Aguilar and Sarah Miller-Crews announced on X that they were finally returning to Genshin Impact and would continue to reprise their roles as Aether and Lumine, respectively.

English VAs for Aether and Lumine set to return to Genshin Impact
Zach Aguilar (Aether's EN VA) and Sarah Miller-Crews (Lumine's EN VA) officially announced on X that they will be resuming work in Genshin Impact. This comes after a week of speculation within the playerbase regarding the recast of the twins in the wake of the SAG-AFTRA strike suspension.
While a majority of the community believed that the VAs would return to voice Aether and Lumine, some felt their prolonged absence could lead to them getting recast. Fortunately, Zach and Sarah have now dispelled all confusion and have announced their intentions to return to Genshin Impact.
Zach Aguilar posted on X:
"I'm coming back to voice Aether in Genshin Impact".
He also said that due to issues with the timing, it would not be possible for him to voice Aether in the upcoming Genshin Impact 5.7 Archon Quest. However, he assured the playerbase he would continue voicing Aether in the future, adding he was "thrilled to continue."
Shortly after Zach's announcement, Sarah Miller-Crews replied to Zach's post on X, also revealing that she would be back to voice Lumine in Genshin Impact. She said she missed Lumine and that she was excited to "be back in Teyvat soon."
With assurance from the VAs themselves that the voices of Aether and Lumine will remain the same in the English dub, players can now heave a sigh of relief and continue to enjoy the game as usual.
