Skills are active abilities that can be switched between on the fly. They use a resource known as Energy, indicated by the blue outline around the equipped skill icon. This recharges slowly during combat but is instant during traversal. There are three skills in the game, and each will be obtained via normal story progression.

  • Shuriken: Allows Jack to throw a shuriken projectile at a target. This has a limited range but can be used to take out foes at medium range. It can instantly kill normal foes while a few other bigger foes will be stunned. It can also be used to detach hanging objects from chains or hit switches in the environment.
  • Shadow: Turns Jack invisible while simultaneously deploying a decoy that lasts for a short while in the location where he stood. Attacking will disable the invisibility. This is great for diverting attention from aggressive enemies and getting to safety. Can also be used for environmental puzzle solving, like using the decoy in front of lasers that will open or enable certain parkour elements.
  • Tempest: A returning ability from the original Ghostrunner game, it launches a blast of air from Jack's hand. This can be used to throw enemies off balance so players can move in for the kill. It can also be used in the environment to push crates or relocate grapple points
