When EA released Apex Legends everyone was shocked. At first, it looked like they were trying to cash in on the Battle Royale fad. There have been numerous Battle Royale games released in the past few years but only a few have managed to stay afloat.

However, after trying the game and reading some early reviews, it seems like Apex Legends is truly the next big thing. The game is growing rapidly, gaining a player base of 1 million in just 8 hours!

The game has some clear similarities to Titanfall. It does, in fact, take place in the Titanfall universe. What makes this game so special is that it is free to play. This is surprising since EA games generally burn a hole in the pocket. However, the original developers of the game Respawn announced that EA had nothing to do with the game development. There are microtransactions available but you can also craft items or skins.

Apex Legends looks like a mixture of Call of Duty and PUBG with hero elements from Overwatch. It also has a battle pass similar to Fortnite. The game allows you to pick from a variety of characters. These characters have specific abilities which can be used in the game along with the weapons you get. This spices up the gameplay and makes it different from the traditional Battle Royales in the market.

The game is fast paced and fun to play. It allows you to strategize and you also have the option to dive together initially. You can download the game via Origin which is an online gaming platform similar to Steam. Apex Legends is free to play and requires about 22 gigabytes of space, with cross platform play set to arrive soon.
