The Dazzling Rainbowite is a strange item in Honkai Star Rail due to how it serves its purpose in the game. There isn't any immediate use for it, so it doesn't fall under the typical category of resources. If anything, it's used as a mission item and will help you complete a quest. Dazzling Rainbowite could have more uses in Honkai Star Rail

To get the Dazzling Rainbowite, you must first visit Boulder Town using a Space Anchor. Use the one next to the Goethe Grand Hotel:

• A mysterious woman will be present over there. Go and talk to her.
• You'll have the option to pick between two chests. One includes the Dazzling Rainbowite, while the other will make you fight monsters.
• If you have chosen the latter, defeat all the monsters. It isn't a very hard task to perform.
• Once you have defeated the monsters, talk to the woman again, and she'll let you choose the smaller chest (you can choose the smaller one in the beginning to avoid the fight).
• This small chest includes the item in the discussion.

Once you have obtained it, the next step is to exchange it in Honkai Star Rail. If you read the description, it becomes evident that the item has no real use. It's unclear why the item isn't presented more as a quest item.
