WATCH: YouTuber figures out when Real Madrid can sign Neymar in FIFA 18 Career Mode
What's the story?
After a Youtuber successfully managed to purchase Cristiano Ronaldo and play him as a Barcelona player, another person has taken up the cudgels. This time, the concerned player is Neymar Jr. who has newly signed for PSG. The aim was to get him to sign a deal with Real Madrid.
In case you didn't know...
The other day, a Youtuber going by the name of RBT engaged in a number of negotiations to lure Cristiano Ronaldo to rival club Barcelona. After much deliberation and the sale of Gerard Deulofeu, the pen was put on paper and the Portuguese winger became a Barca man.
The heart of the matter
Initially, PSG refused to part with the Brazilian since he had recently signed for them, But the Youtuber, username BCHD Gaming, waited patiently and played out the season until the next transfer window opened in January 2019.
This time, PSG were a little more flexible and were willing to talk business. The initial offer of a £150m was rejected, but after a little more haggling, the manager settled for a deal worth £208.1m. The final deal also included a sell-on clause of 5%.
Neymar was given a five-year contract with wages adding up to £330,800-per-week, and a signing bonus of £15,600,022 – the highest that can be offered. Additionally, a £300m release clause was agreed upon. One thing led to another and voilá! A former Barca hero is now a Madridista in FIFA 2018.
Somebody ought to turn this into a series. Episode 1 would be called "How to Turn Cristiano Ronaldo into a Barca player". Neymar to Real Madrid would most probably be Episode 2. I do wonder if there will be an Episode 3 titled, "How to Turn Lionel Messi into a Real Madrid player". But I'm probably getting a bit ahead of myself.
In times like these, I sure am glad for features like My Club where you can customize your own team and build teams with the best players. Only in a game can one see situations where Neymar is donning a Real Madrid jersey or Cristiano Ronaldo becoming a Barcelona player.
