Having a good goalkeeper is always the best way to keep a clean sheet. No matter how good your defence it, you need a world class goalkeeper in between the posts in FIFA 19 Ultimate Team.

The Premier League has a few of them and it is not a surprise that Manchester United's David De Gea is the most sort-after shot-stopper in the game. He is easily the best keeper in the game and thus, will not be getting an upgrade this rating refresh.

Here are three Premier League goalkeepers who are set to get an upgrade:

#3 – Neil Etheridge

Cardiff City might be suffering in the Premier League this season but Neil Etheridge has been their shining star. The Philippines goalkeeper has saved 3 penalties in the league – more than any other goalkeeper.

Unlike the Premier League fantasy team, Etheridge is not a fan-favourite in the Ultimate Team. The shot-stopper has a rating of just 72 in the game and it's hardly a surprise that none of the teams have him in between the posts.

The Cardiff goalkeeper is now set to get an upgrade but that is hardly going to make a difference in FUT. The winter rating refresh takes place in February and Etheridge is bound to be getting one of best boosts for a goalkeeper this year.

From a silver card rated at 72, Etheridge is set for a move to a gold card. It is expected that his new card will be a rare-gold one with a rating of 77. He already has his reflect, diving and positioning stats in the 70's and those might just be pushed to 78-79 with his handling stats moving from 64 to 70.

#2 – Kepa Arrizabalaga

There is something about Chelsea and World Class goalkeepers. The first had Petr Cech, replaced him with Thibaut Courtois and now have Kepa Arrizabalaga in their squad.

The world-record signing has settled in well at Stamford Bridge and is slowly showing everyone what he is capable of. The shot-stopper has been brilliant between the posts and has been a vital reason why Chelsea are still in the top 4 and alive in all competitions.

Rated at just 83 in FIFA 19, Kepa Arrizabalaga is now set for an upgrade. The Spaniard might not be anywhere close to De Gea but the ratings EA have given them makes it look like they are way further apart.

Kepa deserves a rating of 85 at least and given that he has performed really well on the pitch this season, EA should consider giving him that upgrade.

#1 – Alisson

One thing common between all the goalkeepers on this list is that they are all newcomers to the Premier League. All of them have then the league by a storm and are giving the strikers nightmares every single week.

Alisson was the world-record signing for a goalkeeper for a short while and he has shown exactly why he was worth the risk. The Brazilian has been a key figure at Liverpool this season and one of the main reasons why Liverpool are flying high.

Rated at 85 in FIFA 19, Alisson is set for an upgrade. While he is not going to get a huge upgrade, it is expected to be a push of +1. The rating boost will put him on par with his countryman and Manchester City goalkeeper, Edoerson.
