Chelsea were having a decent season until the turn of the year. 2019 has not been the best year for The Blues and things do not look great for them going forward. They suffered their worst defeats in the Premier League (4-0 to Bournemouth & 6-0 to Manchester City), have been handed a transfer ban and their best players (Eden Hazard and Callum Hudson-Odoi) are looking to leave in the summer.

Moreover, in terms of performance on the pitch, there has been very little improvement and Champions League football is in no way guaranteed next season as well. All the other top clubs have made progress this season in one way or the other but Chelsea seem to be stuck in one place.

Just like the club, the players' ratings in FIFA 19 have also been stuck in one place. While they have not done anything extraordinary, there are a few who surely deserve better ratings than what they have gotten.

Here are 5 Chelsea players who should have got upgrades but didn't:

#5 – Callum Hudson-Odoi

The teenager has been the breakout star of the year for Chelsea but has still not got a Premier League start. He has already made his debut for England and has even started a game for them!

Rated at 68, it was a surprise EA did not give him an upgrade in the FIFA 19 Winter Upgrades. The Blues starlet has shown that he is way better than what he has been portrayed to be and should have been in contention to get an upgrade.

Even if it wasn't a big one, Hudson-Odoi should have been pushed to 72 or 73 at least. And his silver card should have been made a rare-silver card as well.

#4 – Antonio Rudiger

Antonio Rudiger has been solid at the back and it was a surprise to see EA give him a downgrade at the start of FIFA 19. He was pushed from 82 to 81 in the game and was completely ignored in the FIFA 19 Winter Upgrades.

EA could have pushed him back to 82 or got him on par with Luiz at 83 but they chose not to do it.

#3 – Emerson

Emerson has well and truly established himself as Chelsea's #1 left-back and it took some time. The Italian has shown Marcos Alonso what a full-back's role actually is and has contributed more in defence than attack.

Rated at just 76, EA should have pushed him to 78 and also made his card a rare-gold card. But somehow, they chose to ignore him, just like the other Chelsea players.

#2 – N'Golo Kante

One thing N'Golo Kante has proved this season is that he is the most versatile midfielder in the world today. The Frenchman is regarded as the best central defensive midfielder in the world but has been excelling in the box-to-box midfielder's role under Maurizio Sarri.

Rated at 89, Kante is one of the best in the game. However, looking at his performances, the stats should have been tweaked a little. He should have been upgraded to 90 with his shooting and passing stats increasing a lot.

#1 – Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard took the Premier League by storm in the first half of the season. The Belgian was scoring at will and was the best player in the league. All the pundits in the world were praising him and there was no stopping him.

However, EA did not opt to give him an upgrade despite handing Harry Kane one. The Chelsea man should have been pushed to 91 and his shooting stats should have moved from 82 to 85.
