Manchester City are the team to beat for most of the European sides and the Cityzen's squad strength shows why. Last season, they had Kevin de Bruyne out for a lot of matches while first choice left-back, Benjamin Mendy was out for a long time.

Despite all that, they still managed to win the domestic treble and made it to the Champions League Q-Finals. While the squad did exceptionally well as a whole, there were some who disappointed last season.

With that mind, there is a very good chance of them getting a downgrade in FIFA 20. Here are 5 Manchester City players who might get a downgrade:

#5 Benjamin Mendy 81 → 80

During his time at AS Monaco, Benjamin Mendy was regarded as one of the best left-backs in the world of football. However, his move to Manchester City saw his getting injured soon and he has never been the same ever since.

The Frenchman has been getting injured often and there were rumours that he would be sold by Pep Guardiola as he wants someone fit for the whole season and not someone who gets injured often.

He was rated at 81 in FIFA 19 and now, he is set to get a downgrade to 80.

#4 Gabriel Jesus 83 → 82

The Brazilian was signed so that he could put pressure on Sergio Aguero and make him better. While the Argentine has improved a lot, Jesus has not lived up to his expectations.

Reports suggest that he could be leaving in the summer but there are no young strikers for City to sign so there is a good chance of his staying. However, his FIFA rating are bound to take a hit and it will see his rating go down from 83 to 82 as he has not been good enough.

#3 Leroy Sane 86 → 85

Leroy Sane was the one who had to suffer because of Bernardo Silva's form. The Portuguese international was on top of his game last season and thus, Guardiola was unable to drop him.

He had to pick between Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane and he prefered the Englishman as he was scoring more goals. Sane's rating was at 86 in FIFA 19 and it could come down to 85 as he was a benchwarmer for most of the season.

#2 Nicholas Otamendi 86 → 84

Nicholas Otamendi's time at Manchester City might be coming to an end as well but the Argentine is ready to fight for his place. Reports suggest that Guardiola wants to make Walker a centre-back alongside Aymeric Laporte and that could see Otamendi become a 4th choice CB behind John Stones.

Rated at 86 in FIFA 19, there is no way Otamendi will remain at the same. He is bound to get a downgrade and a push to 84 is reasonable.

#1 – Kevin de Bruyne 91 → 90

Kevin de Bruyne was set to be the main man for Manchester City last season but an injury early in the season saw him sidelined. The Belgian came back strong but was unable to get goals or assists regularly and was struck by yet another injury.

The midfielder's absence did not affect City one bit and they were able to complete the domestic treble for the first time in history. Rated at 91 in FIFA 19, De Bruyne will not be at the same rating in FIFA 20. He is set to get a downgrade as they cannot have too many players over 90 in the game.

Whole a huge downgrade is not expected, he is set to be pushed to 90 or even 89 in FIFA 20. His pace, shooting and passing stats are likely to be the ones to get the hit.
