Honkai Star Rail was released on March 26th, 2023 for the PC and mobile platforms. The game follows a live-service model with periodic version updates. Each update includes additional bits of story content, new limited Light Cones, and characters for players to acquire. The current version 1.0 of the game is scheduled to receive an update to patch 1.1 and beyond, although the exact release date of the said patches still remains a mystery.
Despite this setback, we can draw an approximate duration of the notable upcoming patches, which begin with the much-anticipated version 1.1.

Every Honkai Star Rail patch is expected to last at least 45 days
Star Rail borrows a lot from its elder sibling, Genshin Impact - including the battle pass system. It is also divided into two tiers, the Nameless Honor and Nameless Glory - lasting 45 days. As the battle pass missions include cumulative objectives that can only be completed by adhering to this time period, it can be easily assumed that a singular patch will last 45 days as well. This is not taking into account the “gap period” that exists between patches, which is typically a week long.
By following this pattern and taking into account the information of current leaks from various sources, we can draw a schedule for the upcoming patches:
Patch 1.0
The current patch. Expected to end on June 6, 2023. A downtime of several hours is expected between this patch and the next.
Patch 1.1
The upcoming patch 1.1 is expected to release on June 7, 2023, with the closing of the Jing Yuan banner. The patch is expected to feature new 5-star characters Luocha and Silver Wolf, along with their signature Light Cones.

What can players expect from future updates to Honkai Star Rail?
Eager players looking forward to seeing the game flourish can expect many changes and improvements. Developer HoYoverse has a good track record of keeping their titles alive and well with fresh content - and Honkai Star Rail is no exception.
In addition to game engine optimizations, players can expect tons of freebies, events, and new limited characters. The game’s campaign is also expected to continue the Xianzhou Luofu story past its cliffhanger.
