Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon features many unique enemies, even during the early hours of the prologue. After escaping the jail cell on the Island Asylum, players are free to explore the fairly linear corridors of the institute. Despite that, there is missable content to discover, including secret bosses like the Frantic Berserker.
This boss can be found if players are willing to explore every nook and cranny. Here's how to take him down in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.

To get to the Frantic Berserker in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, take a detour off the path to another boss named the Wailing Effigy. Located in the direction opposite to where you find Caradoc waiting for them, the pathway to this boss is located through a wall passage branching off from the stairwell leading to the Wailing Effigy.
After crawling through and exiting the passageway, you will find an NPC named Sirja to the right and another path leading to the left, which eventually leads to the cell that the Frantic Berserker is held in. Now, there are two ways to head inside: through the cell gate or the small crawl space next to the arena.
The first option requires the Jail Key, which you get early on, while the second one requires you to climb a couple of rocks to perch above the boss. The latter is the easier tactic to beat this boss, as it is virtually a way to cheese the fight by hitting the Frantic Berserker from afar while the madman has no way of getting to you.

That said, attacking from range is only possible if you have ranged offensive capabilities like the fireball spell. Those who are running a close-range melee build must eventually find themselves in close-quarters combat against the Frantic Berserker. That said, he is fairly easy to beat as he largely has two moves: a couple of swift jabs and a lunge punch.
Since the fight arena is small, you must keep a distance and move in when the window of opportunity presents itself. Alternately, you can just sit atop the crawl space and let him come close and then try to swing at him with melee strikes, which can work too, but makes for a dull encounter. Once he has been defeated, he will drop a unique headgear called the Thorn's Helmet.
The Thorn's Helmet has an Armor Rating of 2.0 while also boasting the following perk: "Receiving Melee Damage returns 5 Physical Damage back to the attacker". Additionally, the Athlete's Pride ring can also be looted off his corpse, and it increases Max Stamine by 5. While not much, it should prove helpful for melee build users.
