In Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon, A Pebble In A Pit is a quest you can't find by checking notice boards or chatting up townsfolk. Instead, it starts right in the middle of a cave, with a guy named Pup trapped inside a strange wall of magical stones. You’ll find this quest deep inside the Crystal Cave, located on the cliff wall by the river southeast of Cuanacht.

To begin, head into the Crystal Cave in Cuanacht. Once inside, explore the area until you find Pup, stuck in place and surrounded by glowing rock. Talk to him to start the quest. After the conversation, check the rock wall on his right — you’ll see that it’s mineable. Use your Pickaxe to break through it.

Clear the cave and check on Pup

Once you mine the rock, several Frostbitten Warriors will appear. Take them out. The Skeleton Army spell can be helpful here, and they aren’t the toughest enemies, but there are a few of them, so be cautious. After clearing them, the quest will tell you to check on Pup — but when you return, he’ll be gone.

Exit the cave and find Pup

Follow the path near where you mined the rock. It leads to an elevator that takes you back outside. Once you’re out, Pup will be waiting there. Talk to him. There are two options to pick from here:

• Good luck, kid
• You're just feeling sorry for yourself. Snap out of it.

If you pick the first option during the chat, he’ll ask you to let Kvorr know he’s safe. The latter choice concludes the quest.

Finding Kvorr

Head to the southern part of the map near a ruined camp, just past the bridge that leads to Forlorn Swords. Kvorr is there, wearing fancy armor. Speak to him about Pup and collect the rewards.
