In the Lies of P Overture DLC, Veronique, Leader of the Sweepers, is one of the tougher Stalker bosses you must deal with. Her hammer swings, flamethrower bursts, and flaming second phase make her a serious step up from what may have come before. The nearest Stargazer to the boss is the Coolant Control Room. From there, head left after exiting the room, and you’ll immediately enter the arena where the fight takes place.

What to bring before the fight

For the fight with Veronique, Leader of the Sweepers, bring a weapon that hits hard and can stagger – something like a Live Puppet's Axe. If you’ve upgraded your Legion Arms, Cataclysm is a solid pick for burst damage, while Fulminis will stun her long enough to land a follow-up shot.

If you want to make this fight easier, Puppet String is the best option. It interrupts nearly everything Veronique throws at you. Outside of her blocking stance, most of her big attacks can be cut off mid-animation with it. Just stock up on Legion Magazines, and you’ll be able to spam Puppet String throughout the fight.

You can also prep with Deus Ex Machina if you want to play more reactively – drop some landmines during her longer recovery windows.

Battle strategy

Veronique, Leader of the Sweepers, starts the fight at the far end of the arena. This gives you time to charge up Cataclysm. Once she starts rushing in, dodge her first hammer swing and look for openings she leaves after each attack.

She’s got a combo where she slams the hammer overhead – if you parry it cleanly, you can land a heavy counter. Maintain distance between each round of attacks and pull her back to the center when possible.

If you’re using Puppet String, the fight becomes a rinse-and-repeat loop. Wait for her charge, yank her in, hit her, and do it again. Just be careful – if you rush in while she’s lighting her hammer after a missed swing, you’ll be on fire.

Once you knock her health down to about 50%, Veronique powers up. Her hammer stays lit with flames for the rest of the fight, and every slam will drop fire patches on the floor. You’ll need to start moving smarter – dodge left or right, don’t roll into the fire trail.

She also gains a new move – a spinning overhead jump attack. If you’re far enough away when she jumps, you can completely avoid it. But if she catches you close, be ready to parry it. It’s not the shortest parry window, but missing it can cost a chunk of your health.

If you're stuck with Puppet String, it still works here. Nothing changes – yank, slam, repeat. But if you’re playing straight, use those recovery windows wisely and don’t let her back you into a corner with the fire zones.
