You won’t unlock Fast Travel right away in Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance. You’ll need to reach the second fast travel pillar in Mita. After all, you need to have a point to travel to, to use the feature. Once you’ve done it the first time, you’ll have access to it anytime you reach one of these blue pillars.
You can fast travel back to other areas you’ve been previously, so if you need to travel back to Minato, the Tokyo Diet Building, or somewhere else you have access to, you can do it this way. In order to fast travel in Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance, just head to one of the blue, glowing Leyline Founts, and use the Leyline Crossing feature after examining it.
Just select the appropriate area on the map and then select the fast travel point that you wish to head to. If you find the map too cluttered - there are tons of symbols on it, after all - just press Square/X to disable them. You’ll see it on the screen.

There’s one more feature that you access after this, and it’s incredibly important: The Return Pillar. This is a key item that you unlock after defeating the Hydra boss in Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance. Once you have it, you can press a button, and instantly transport back to the last Leyline Fount you visited.
The maps you explore can be dangerous in this game, so having immediate access back to the Leyline Fount is key. You can pay Macca (money) to restore your health, fuse your demons, buy items, and visit with your demonic allies to improve their stats. These are very important spots on your map, and being able to transport safely back to them is not something you should underestimate.
Shin Megami Tensei 5 releases on June 14, 2024. It brings over 150 hours of gameplay, including a brand-new story, which branches off of the original.
