New 'Apocalyptic Shadow' endgame mode announced for Honkai Star Rail

Apocalyptic Shadow will be the new name of the endgame mode coming in Honkai Star Rail 2.3. Much like other game modes, the Apocalyptic Shadow will be available for everyone starting June 19, 2024. Additionally, note that this will be a permanent game mode, similar to Simulated Universe, Memory of Chaos, and Pure Fiction.

The official description of "Apocalyptic Shadow" is as follows:

"Trailblazers must face materializations of the Finality and defeat bosses they have faced before."

Additionally, each boss will be different from their regular variants in the game. Hence, players can expect this game mode to benefit the Hunt characters in Honkai Star Rail. This is also one pattern that HoYoverse seems to follow with their endgame, where each mode relies heavily on specific Paths.

For example, Memory of Chaos relies on Destruction Path due to the enemy variations including bosses and trash mobs. Pure Fiction requires Erudition characters for the involvement of trash mobs throughout the waves. Now, the presence of bosses in the new Apocalyptic Shadow calls for Hunt characters.

Starting in 2.3, the three endgame modes—Pure Fiction, Memory of Chaos, and Apocalyptic Shadow, will be moved to a scheduling pattern. Here is the full schedule:
