On April 21, 2024, YouTube star Jimmy "MrBeast" took to his official X account to explain why he wanted content creators to "switch over" to creating longer videos on YouTube. In the social media post, MrBeast claimed that people "want more story-telling" rather than "fast-paced" content.

He then explained why his most recent uploaded video was over 40 minutes long, stating that it was his "goal to show" that this type of content "works":

The Kansas native tweeted:

"People want more storytelling in YouTube content and not just ADHD fast-paced videos. Which is why my new video is over 40 minutes (long) and has the most depth of any of our videos! My goal is to show it works so more creators switch over."

"You made my girlfriend cry" - LazarBeam, Marques Brownlee, and xQc react to MrBeast's recent video

James "Jimmy" Donaldson, better known by his internet alias "MrBeast," has established himself as one of the most renowned YouTubers. Since joining the Google-owned platform in February 2012, he has amassed over 252 million subscribers with more than 47 billion video views.

On April 20, 2024, the content creator posted a video titled, Ages 1 - 100 Decide Who Wins $250,000. Providing the gist of the challenge, the 25-year-old said:

"Behind me are 100 people and they range from the age of one all the way to age 100. And they're all going to be competing for $250,00. And, unlike any of my past videos, these 100 people will decide (for) themselves who deserves the 250 grand. Everybody, enter your cubes. The challenge has officially begun. If any of you decide to leave or even touch the red line, you will be eliminated."

Meanwhile, X user @xqcreviews shared Twitch and Kick streamer Felix "xQc's" critique of the video. He said:

"I don't think this stretches or, like, waste of time. I think it was all, like... yeah, I enjoyed. I just wish - less randomness, less like... bulls**t, like, whatever personal narrative garbage. That's just my opinion, though. I really hate that s**t."

MrBeast is currently competing with T-Series, an Indian music record label, for the title of the most-subscribed YouTube channel.
