On May 9, 2023, the online community was taken aback when YouTube legend Felix "PewDiePie's" Inifinte Stream Twitch channel was banned for the first time. For those who are unaware, PewDiePie's channel became active after years of inactivity, and in March 2023, it began broadcasting the internet star's old YouTube videos. The suspension was announced via the automated Twitter account StreamerBans, which tweeted:

As expected, the news quickly spread on social media platforms such as Reddit and Twitter, with many fans speculating on why the infinitely running channel had been suspended.

"Did the stream replay a certain moment or something?" - Fans react and speculate the reason for PewDiePie's first Twitch ban

The Swedish personality's Twitch channel began broadcasting earlier this year and has since amassed over 1.5 million followers. However, viewership has dropped significantly, from an average of 2,062 in March to 454 in May. When accessing the content creator's channel at the time of writing, the following error message pops up:

"This channel is temporarily unavailable due to a violation of Twitch's Community Guidelines or Terms of Service."

The news quickly gained traction on the r/LivestreamFail subreddit, with Redditor u/lil_babylonian wondering if the 24/7 broadcast had inadvertently played a controversial moment. Their comment read:

"Did the stream replay a... uh... certain moment or something?"

Meanwhile, another Reddit user, u/paperhaha, dubbed the situation the "bridge incident." For context, PewDiePie made headlines in 2017 while playing PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. At one point, he engaged in a fight on a bridge in-game, during which he said the N-word.

One community member was "impressed" to see that the streamer's infinitely running channel lasted so long:

Redditor u/hopefuil speculated that the ban was imposed because the channel was using "infinite VODs (video on demand)":

Here are some more reactions from the subreddit:

More than 125 netizens shared their thoughts, and many fans speculated that the "bridge incident" was livestreamed on the 24/7 channel:

According to Twitter user @CommanderRoot, Felix's account is only temporarily banned, and he is still a Twitch partner:

Some of the most pertinent responses were along these lines:

At the time of writing, neither PewDiePie nor the channel's administrators have issued a statement regarding the ban.
