Slitterhead takes place in the urban, neon-lit setting of Kowlong. Players must fight monstrosities called Slitterheads, which roam the streets shapeshifted as humans. To do this, they must control a formless entity called the Hyoki, which possesses different NPCs, to help it complete its goal.

Players can use a variety of weapons, both ranged and melee, as well as powers utilizing blood techniques. Parrying and countering incoming attacks from threatening monsters is key to defeating them, and players can even switch between characters on the field on the fly.

While fans expected a Silent Hill spiritual successor since the series creator is at the helm, this is still a nice surprise. In a nutshell, Bokeh Game Studios' debut offering is fairly reminiscent of Ghostwire Tokyo from Tango Gameworks in its supernatural/horror tone and aesthetics. However, the unique combat presentation certainly elevates it to a new level of bizarreness and appeal.

The title is scheduled to launch on November 8, 2024 on PC via Epic Games Store and Steam digital storefronts, as well as current-gen hardware in the form of PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
