Twitch streamer, strongman, and now a gym owner Knut Spildrejorde, or simply "Knut" had a close call in his Iron Forge Gym yesterday (April 18). The streamer was live streaming his workout routine in the Smith machine. As he was squatting with a loaded barbell, he suddenly struggled to maintain his balance under the heavy pressure bearing down on him.

Fortunately, the streamer's wife, Jeanette Lund, was present as a spotter. Knut promptly directed her to place the shaft of the barbell onto the safety catch of the Smith machine. The streamer breathed a sigh of relief, before later explaining:

"The machine couldn't go up."

Norwegian bodybuilder and Twitch streamer Knut narrowly avoided disaster. While working out on the Smith machine with a barbell, he encountered a tricky situation.

The machine had shifted slightly, creating a gap between it and the wall. Consequently, with each squat, the machine would inch backward, preventing him from safely securing the barbell on the clutches.

At first glance, viewers thought that the streamer's loss of balance was due to the heavyweights. However, the streamer later explained that the culprit was the machine's positioning. He said:

"I have to push it (the machine) backwards towards the wall. The machine couldn't go up because it was falling backwards. (After his wife asked, 'Are you sure?') Yes."

The streamer clarified that the weight was not a problem for him, stating:

"The weight was no problem. It was really easy. Just have to put it all the way back to the wall and then it is better or else I was sliding forward...it was the machine moving...or else, the machine was tipping (backwards). It was one of the two."

The clip was also shared on the popular r/Livestreamfail subreddit. Fans shared their experience with a similar issue, stating how many gyms do not secure their machines to the floor to avoid damaging the floor:

One user even criticized the streamer for having his wife as a spotter, since it's considered that she might not be the strongest to help him catch the weight:

Fortunately, Knut emerged from the incident unscathed. The Iron Forge Gym, which debuted earlier this year in Texas, is co-owned by another prominent streamer, Matthew "Mizkif," who is also a co-owner of OTK.
