XDefiant executive producer Mark Rubin has provided the latest development for the game from the recent server test session. He shared that the developers are working on fixes for several issues including the Delta-01 error, the matchmaking system, and the delayed health bar animation. Rubin also reported that the game's launch date announcement is coming soon.
The playtest ran from April 19 to April 21, 2024, inviting thousands of players excited to try out Ubisoft's upcoming first-person shooter game.
Mark Rubin offers new XDefiant updates following server test session
On April 26, 2024, Mark Rubin gave the community updates about the recent XDefiant server test session. On his official X account, he shared insights from last week's play test and acknowledged the flaws and problems players encountered during the beta run.
He highlighted three things that the team has been working on since the test run: the Delta-01 error, health bars, and matchmaking system.
Mark reported that they are working on a possible fix for the Delta-01 error that caused extra latency issues for many players. He also shared that they are fixing the health bars in-game, which, during the play test, had delays in updating. This gave the impression that the shots weren't doing any damage to the target.
The matchmaking system was also highlighted as players reported experiencing higher pings during the playtest. Rubin announced that the team was able to fix this during the last day of the test session.
In a separate tweet, Rubin finally revealed that the team is going to announce XDefiant's final release date very soon. Fans are hopeful that the developers are not going to miss the deadline this time.
The game's first beta test rolled out in April 2023, with the initial launch date proposed in Summer 2023. However, the release date has been pushed back multiple times due to in-game issues with the latest target date being March 2024.
