On April 18, Darren Watkins Jr, aka IShowSpeed, posted a video on his YouTube channel where he traveled to Old Trafford to sign a contract for Manchester United. The team's relatively new Chief Executive Omar Berrada even fielded questions in a seeming press conference where the streamer signed a contract.

The popular content creator was a major fan of the English side when his idol Cristiano Ronaldo returned for a second stint at the club back in 2021. The Ohio native even traveled to the UK on numerous occasions to watch matches. This week, he has been in Manchester for a few days and streamed the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg between Manchester City and Real Madrid.

As per IShowSpeed, he had very little idea about the deal he was called over for by the Manchester United management and was ecstatic when Omar Berrada presented him with a contract.

"I have been dreaming of this": IShowSpeed signs a contract with Manchester United

IShowSpeed opened the video claiming that someone in the Manchester United management team had called him to their office. The YouTuber even stated that the request had confused him:

"Alright, boys I just got this call from Man United. They told me to pull up to the office, I am super confused, I am like, 'What's going on?' I just got a call from Man United and it sounded like a manager, some business person."

After he entered one of the conference rooms in the building, he was welcomed by Omar Berrada:

"Welcome to Old Trafford, Speed."

IShowSpeed seemed lost for words and repeatedly exclaimed:

"Oh my god, now way, bro. No way!"

Berrada then pointed to some papers on the desk, claiming it was the streamer's first contract:

"You have to sign there, this is your first contract."

Darren proceeded to calm himself and signed his full name, and after a while popped the question about how much he would get paid:

"How much am I getting paid?"

The query was deflected, but Berrada welcomed questions from the supposed journalists in the room who were out of the view of the camera. One of them asked the YouTuber where he would rank signing a contract for Manchester United. IShowSpeed answered that it was probably the third greatest moment of his life, after meeting Cristiano Ronaldo and getting RKO'd by Randy Orton at WrestleMania:

"It's up there with the top three (best moments of my life). The first one would have to be, obviously meeting Cristiano Ronaldo. The second will probably be me getting RKO'd (by Randy Orton) and the third one is probably this one. I have been dreaming of this, this actually means a lot to me. Me getting signed to Man United, who would have thought this would happen?"

For the rest of the video, the streamer toured the facilities at Old Trafford and even showed off his jersey hanging in the locker room. A couple of kids affiliated with Manchester United even gifted him a special jersey with the number 24 to mark the occasion of his YouTube channel crossing 24 million subscribers a couple of days ago.

Readers should note that while IShowSpeed did joke about taking penalties for Manchester United and playing for the team, it is unclear exactly what the contract entails.
