Rockstar Games announced some new updates to Red Dead Redemption 2's online multiplayer mode, Red Dead Online, and made the announcement on Twitter today. This update focused on the Gun Rush mode, Red Dead Online's 32-player battle royal mode. The fixes focused on matchmaking issues, as well as adding a dedicated RDO section to their support page, in order to weed out any other outstanding issues.Oh, they also are giving anyone who plays between today and January 27th some free gold. So, there's that.Red Dead Online Beta UpdateGold Bonus, Gun Rush Lobby Improvements and More Details: https://t.co/KjSjlIzHS6 pic.twitter.com/KhROVs0YJx— Rockstar Games (@RockstarGames) January 25, 2019Much like before, the reaction to this on Twitter was... to be generous... mixed....Love you Rockstar, thanks for this legendary game😁❤— SuperTino (@Super_Tino1) January 25, 2019Pull the plug on this garbage already and fix single player. https://t.co/SHpiI6oVJu— Darealbandicoot (@Darealbandicoot) January 25, 2019This fellow, while not happy with the frequency of fixes and updates in RDO, feels like it could certainly be worse *cough*callofduty*cough*We seriously need to wait even longer for more bug fixes? I hate to say this... like I really do... but can’t you just release small patch updates like Call of Duty? At least with you guys, bugs will be fixed. Unlike CoD where they always put out a game still in alpha.— Shane (@ShaneWalkerJr) January 25, 2019While Rockstar has always insisted that they're implementing changes based on player feedback, some folks on Twitter aren't so sure.Doing pathetic updates like this is actually hurting you more rockstar. If there's not a significant update by the end of this month your new product is done. You say you are listening to feedback yet you work on stuff nobody cares about— I'm Mr. Meseeks (@RawDawg0409) January 25, 2019And this dude seems to agree.literally 0 people asked for gun rush lol— MuShY (@bornmush) January 25, 2019To be fair, having an online mode like RDR2 does and not including a battle royal mode seems like bad business. Plus, I mean, zero people? I'm sure there were at least, like, five people who wanted Gun Rush mode. Law of averages and all of that. Game sold 17 million copies its first week.Yes I know. 0. I never heard anybody on Twitter, YouTube, or reddit every say "I love gunrush you guys should improve on it". The fact they are giving people 5 gold who PLAY this weekend shows you the number of online players is falling— I'm Mr. Meseeks (@RawDawg0409) January 25, 2019Oh. Well. I stand corrected, I guess.I'm not as cynical about RDO as a lot of the people whose Tweets we've posted, but I do have to say I kinda agree with this guy here. You're killing this game. Straight up. These are the least wanted or desired updates, with the exception of bounties.Where is poker or blackjack? Carts? Horse selling? Basic stuff that should be available.— Joe Dimeck (@joe_dimeck) January 25, 2019This guy knows what's up. Ponchos 4 life! Please add ponchos, Liar's Dice, Billiards, more revolvers and Mexico to Red Dead Redemption II single player.— Matthew McCarty (@Black_Chamber_) January 25, 2019It's important to remember that, technically, this mode is still in beta. It will probably take a good, long while, but a lot of the changes people want more than likely are coming. But, they need people to play it in order to find these issues and fix themOf course, you can't get people to play the game if people can't play the game.FIX THIS!! pic.twitter.com/Gmho1oBAVM— Gigerbrick (@1Gigerbrick) January 25, 2019How do you feel about the current state of RDO? Once you're done Tweeting about it, share your thoughts in the comments section.
