5 hidden details in the Resident Evil Requiem trailer
1) Who is Grace Ashcroft?

The trailer introduces us to the game's new protagonist, Grace Ashcroft. Fans of the franchise might find her surname familiar, and Requiem confirms this doubt. Grace is the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, a playable protagonist in the Resident Evil Outbreak duology. However, Requiem isn't the only time her mother was mentioned in the recent RE games.
During the start of Resident Evil 7, players will come across a news report on the Baker Estate, written by Alyssa.
2) A focus on horror

While Resident Evil 8: Village was positively received by fans, many believed it to be a step down from 7. The action-heavy gameplay of the former couldn't replace the tense atmosphere of the latter. Fortunately, it looks like Requiem is shaping up to be another horror-focused experience. The trailer had a depressing tone with a concentration on an eerie atmosphere.
Furthermore, Resident Evil Requiem is directed by Koshi Nakanishi, who also helmed RE7. Even in its marketing, the former is promoted as a survival horror game first. Thus, it looks like another return to the roots for the franchise.
3) The game's setting

While we don't have a confirmed date for when the game is set, we can use a few clues to get an idea. We learn in the trailer that Alyssa Ashcroft was murdered eight years ago. RE7 reveals that Alyssa's report on Baker Estate was released in 2016, so she was alive at least till that year. Thus, the game can take place in 2024 at the earliest.
In terms of the locations, the title makes its two major locations very clear: Remwood Hotel and post-nuke Raccoon City. Seeing the iconic setting featured in many Resident Evil titles in shambles after the nuclear attack feels depressing but perfect for a horror game.
4) Alyssa's flashbacks

When Grace's senior, Nathan, asks her to visit the Remwood Hotel, we see short flashbacks of Alyssa in the same location. Since it is unlikely that she would take her daughter into an investigation, these glimpses look like sections where we play the cameraman for Alyssa. However, some scenes didn't include Alyssa. This could be the player controlling the mother.
RE7 =featured similar sequences, like controlling cameraman Clancy Jarvis or Mia's sections. Considering Resident Evil 7 and Requiem are from the same director, the latter's flashbacks will probably play an important role in the story.
5) Who is the monster?

During a shot in the trailer, we see a monster climbing down from the ceiling. While not confirmed, this looks like the Regis Licker/Suspended or something adjacent. The Regis Licker was a woman who was in the process of becoming a monster but retained some of her human form, creating a horrific amalgamation. She has crimson human skin, but her tongue is fully elongated.
She served as a boss fight in Outbreak and looks to be making a return in Resident Evil Requiem.
That was all about the hidden details in the ninth mainline RE title's trailer.
