It seems as though the Multiplayer feature is not meant to be in the Resistance game series as recent scoop conveys that yet another game of this series is going to loose this feature. Publisher Sony announced earlier today that Resistance: Retribution which stands as the 2009 Sony “Bend game” will go offline and have its online features disabled by May 5th. The game was originally released for PlayStation Portable platform by Sony.

In 2014 Sony had disabled the online services of many Resistance titles that were launched for PlayStation 3 namely Resistance 2, Resistance 3 and Resistance: Fall of Man. Now that Resistance: Retribution has faced the same fate only one game of the series that is the PlayStation Vita title Resistance: Burning Skies stands alone as the last multiplayer bastion for fans of the series. Resistance: Retribution was set in the backdrop of events that took place in the original Resistance and Resistance 2. The PSP exclusive game featured the British Royal Marine James Grayson who battled with his enemies the Chimera throughout Europe. Resistance: Retribution constituted of a few multiplayer modes, supporting upto eight players.
