Netmarbles' latest release, Solo Leveling Arise, is quite an intricate action RPG, offering an enjoyable combat experience. Though its battle system isn't perfect, it utilizes different gameplay elements. Moreover, you can summon Shadows that will assist you in a fight, offering an exclusive passive buff to the entire team. At the same time, they can distract and deal damage to enemies, serving as the perfect companions to Hunters.

However, you will require Shades to summon Shadows. Farming this resource can be tedious unless you know how to get it. This article details everything there is to know about Shades.

To be the ultimate commander of the Army of Shadows in Solo Leveling Arise, having an ample amount of Shades is necessary. The material is primarily dropped as a reward after you complete missions and dungeons while playing as Sung Jinwoo.

That said, listed below are the game modes where you can farm Shades as Sung Jinwoo:

  • Instance dungeon
  • Encore dungeons
  • New story missions
  • Gates
  • Battlefield of Trials
  • Battlefield of Time

Bear in mind that the drop rate of Shades is random, so you might not get them at all even after completing the relevant challenges. Moreover, the drop percentage will also vary depending on the difficulty of the activity.

You use Shades to summon Shadows during combat in Solo Leveling Arise. Every entity you call upon uses a fixed amount of this resource based on their current level. This implies that the higher you promote a Shadow the more Shade will be required to conjure it.

More often than not, you will see the resource running out rather quickly during Auto-Battles. The reason for this is the AI characters tend to use companions frequently.

Therefore, it will be wise to disable summons altogether. You can do so from the in-game settings.

  • Open the menu and click on settings.
  • Select Controls and find the Prevent Shadow Auto-Use During Auto-Battle option.
  • Switch on the feature, and that’s all.

That should be all there is to know about the Shades and their usage in the game. You might also be interested in our article on How to use Extreme Evasion in Solo Leveling Arise.
