Stalker 2 walkthrough: How to complete Dogfight side mission

Dogfight is a side quest in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl that, as the name suggests, involves an encounter with dogs. This straightforward mission can be found in Zalissya and is accessible early in the game. As the second main mission also takes you to Zalissya, you can easily divert to complete this side quest instead.

Stalker 2 "Dogfight" side mission walkthrough

During the second mission, Behind Seven Seals, you’ll be instructed to head to Zalissya and talk to the Bartender to progress the main storyline. On your way, you can take a detour to the left of the Zalissya bar, where you'll find a man named Nightingale standing near a wooden fence. Interact with him to trigger the Dogfight side mission.

Nightingale proposes a bet: whoever kills more blind dogs roaming in a nearby cowshed will win the money. If you accept, the mission begins. Before proceeding, ensure you have enough ammunition, food, and medicine.

Follow Nightingale

Your first objective is to follow Nightingale as he leads you to the cowshed located between two buildings. While walking, he may crack a few puns, but if you try to interact with him, he’ll dismiss you by saying he’s busy. Stay close and keep moving, even if the journey feels uneventful.

Once you arrive, note that the dogs won’t appear until Nightingale enters the cowshed and fires his weapon. But when he does so, the blind dogs emerge to attack.

Once Nightingale shoots, several blind dogs will attack. Your goal is to eliminate them while protecting Nightingale. If he dies, the mission will fail, so it’s crucial to stay close to him and eliminate the dogs as they approach. Keep track of where you kill each dog, as this will be important later.

Find the electronic collar

After the fight, interact with Nightingale — he will ask you to find a collar on one of the dogs. The collar emits radiation, and your radio will beep faster as you approach it. Search each dog until you locate the one with the collar, then collect it by dragging it into your bag.

Complete the mission

Return to Nightingale with the collar. He’ll congratulate you with the compliment, “You’re one hell of a sniper,” and acknowledge your victory in the bet. With this, you’ll have completed the Dogfight side mission.
