Starting version 5.7, Genshin Impact players will need to build three different teams

The developers teased details about a new endgame called Stygian Onslaught during the Genshin Impact 5.7 livestream, held on June 6, 2025. This mode will be released in the upcoming 5.7 update. Furthermore, players can receive rewards such as Primogem, Mora, Hero's Wit, Artifacts, and a new item called Dust of Enlightenment after completing the challenges in this mode.

Stygian Onslaught has five different stages, and completing all of them would unlock a special sixth stage. The developers have also released partial information about the level of bosses, rewards, and the requirements to participate. However, it seems that this mode has some special restrictions.

During the version 5.7 live stream, the developers shared details regarding the new endgame, Stygian Onslaught, in Genshin Impact. Apart from the usual rewards, players can also receive a special item called Dust of Enlightenment after completing the challenges in this mode. This item could help players to reroll some of their level 20 5-star artifacts.

Furthermore, this mode comprises a total of six stages, and the last one is unlocked only after completing all prior levels. This sixth level features 110 level bosses, and fighting against these bosses could be challenging for many players. HoYoverse has announced that this stage won't feature Primogem rewards but might contain other special rewards.

Stygian Onslaught can also be completed in the co-op or single-player mode. The developers have announced that the new endgame will be more efficient for artifact farming. However, players would require three unique teams to complete all five stages in Stygian Onslaught.

Since each stage features a unique boss lineup, players must build three different teams to complete these levels. Furthermore, each boss would have various weaknesses and resistances; thus, players need to build a lot of units. Some enemies, like the Tenebrous Papilla and Lava Dragon Statue boss, would also require specific elements and characters.

This mode also features exclusive rewards, such as Dust of Enlightenment, which can help players reroll some of their undesirable artifacts. Thus, it's advised for players to level up some of their characters so that they can participate in the Stygian Onslaught event and try to obtain all of these new items.
