What is Dust of Enlightenment in Genshin Impact? 

The Genshin Impact version 5.7 livestream was held on June 6, 2025, revealing new information about upcoming characters, weapons, Events, Archon and Story Quests, items, QoL features, and a permanent event called Stygian Onslaught. During this special program, the developers showcased a new item that could help players reroll artifacts. Furthermore, it works similarly to the Sanctifying Elixir, as two rolls are guaranteed into selected minor affixes.

During the version 5.7 live stream, the developers announced a new permanent gamemode called Stygian Onslaught, which will be released in the upcoming update. Furthermore, they revealed details about a new item, Dust of Enlightenment, which will be added in v5.7 to simplify the artifact farming process.

Players can obtain this item for free after completing all the challenges in Stygian Onslaught. Furthermore, they can obtain up to three of these in each version. The Gnostic Hymn and Chorus will also contain one additional Dust of Enlightenment each. However, players must spend money to purchase the Gnostic Hymn and Chorus.

The developers also announced that players can obtain two of these items for free in their mailboxes when version 5.7 drops. The primary use of the Dust of Enlightenment is to reroll a level 20 5-star artifact. Furthermore, Travelers select up to two minor affixes, and two rolls are guaranteed to be on either of these selected sub-stats.

However, the developers haven't revealed all details about these new items. Using them on artifacts will increase the progress of Hallowed Exegis. After reaching a certain amount of progress, a higher level of Artifact reshaping would be available.

HoYoverse has yet to reveal details about the Hallowed Exegis or the higher levels of Artifact reshaping. These terms were featured in the guide for the Dust of Enlightenment, shown during the 5.7 special program. Furthermore, small icons for Hallowed Exegies and a new icon were spotted when they were showcasing this new item.

During the v5.7 live stream, it was displayed that one Dust of Enlightenment is required to reroll a feather. However, we do not know the requirements for increasing the levels of Hallowed Exegis or other artifacts. Since we do not have all the information about this new item, this article will be updated when HoYoverse officially reveals further details.
